Chemistry Tutor with College working experience now available in Austin for private tutoring
After obtaining PhD and working as a researcher for the next 6 years, I started working as an Assistant Professor in a college, which made me understand how different students perceive the subject. Perhaps, I should admit that I have learned how to simply my own lectures through their questions all these 3 years so that there will be less confusion. However, for many students, I found that their problem solving ability improves in an one-on-one sitting instead of large classroom teaching.
Also, I do give feedback about their tests. Especially the way they had written their answers. This process makes them to be alert next time. Once again, I learned how different brains think about one problem. There are always more number of wrong ways to answer a question rather than the more number of right ways. So, it is important that I tell students where they can go wrong. This is not only important for the exam point of view but also very important in learning the concepts.
I specialize in teaching General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry (in particular quantum chemistry, molecular spectroscopy and group theory). I can also teach organic chemistry for high-school students and college freshmen. I have special interest in math too as physical chemistry subjects are much more math oriented.
If the students want to meet me in a common location, which is within 3 miles from where I stay I don't charge additionally. Otherwise, rates may vary depending upon the distance.
