I recently graduated from the University of Rhode is with a degree in Music Performance and a concentration in classical guitar. I spent a semester at the University of Granada in Granada, Spain, where I studied Spanish and flamenco guitar. I have been teaching privately for about 7 years.
I have taught all genres of guitar to all ages, but have most experience and training in classical guitar, often to beginners and kids! I am a Suzuki method teacher working on my certification and going on to graduate school.
Half hour lessons:
For beginners, especially kids, I recommend starting with half hour lessons for a while. I charge $25 for a half hour lesson.
I offer discounts for group lessons. I find that when the parent learns with the child it is beneficial to both! I charge $60/hr for duo lessons. No more than two people per lesson!
I have been teaching for about 7 years and have had over a dozen steady students. I am proud to say one of my first students was recently accepted to his choice school for his music degree!
I have been a part of several workshops at the Hart School, Boston College, New England Conservatory, and also Boston Guitar Festival both in an ensemble, and as a soloist for the last 4 years. I also have experience playing in various jazz groups as well and have been a part of numerous ensembles including Updike’s Rose, the North Kingstown Guitar Dojo, URI Guitar Ensemble, and several chamber groups.
