When I was in high school, I had a lot of experience tutoring children in middle school, where I volunteered for several hours at my school's Department of Enhanced Learning.
The students I worked with really liked the fact that I was approachable, engaged and always willing to help them grow in their understanding. I am really patient when communicating difficult concepts to younger students. I can personalize my style of teaching to the student.
I've been tutoring students (high school and college level) on Wyzant for the last few months and currently have a 5/5 star rating.
I'm a graduate of Hamilton College where I majored in Physics. Here's an outline of my experience:
SAT I Score: 2170 (Math - 770; Writing - 700; Critical Reading - 700)
SAT II Score: Physics - 780; Math Level 2 - 800
Physics and Math:
My Physics coursework included Physics Senior Research Project, Classical Mechanics, Quantum Physics, Electronics and Computers, Electromagnetism, Waves and Fields and The Mechanical Universe. My Math coursework included Statistical Analysis of Data (Minitab), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra and Advanced Calculus.
Programming and Computer Science:
I have experience with MATLAB, C and Python.
In college, I also studied introductory Psychology and Geoscience. In High School, I completed A Levels in Physics, Chemistry and Math affiliated with Cambridge International Examinations, UK and Edexcel, UK.
I have taken piano lessons since 2001, at the age of 8. I have passed all of the Graded Piano Exams assessed by the Royal Schools of Music, London, UK. In college, I also studied Solo Performance Piano under Sar Shalom Strong for six semesters. Most recently, I performed "Invitation to the Dance" by Carl Maria von Weber in my college's Student Soloists' Concert. I spent my last semester learning Chopin's Ocean Etude.
