I am currently a freshman at Boston University studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology; however, I am switching my major to Sociology. I have a wide range of topics I can help with especially in writing and biology. My teaching style is dependent on each individual student. I like to use diagrams, multiple example problems, and common analogies to help students understand the material. Then I create a study set and review questions with the student to practice with.
I have been giving informal tutoring to my peers and through National Honor Society and volunteer programs for about 2 years. I have tutored around 10 students long-term and then more students just on a volunteer basis. Test prep is where I see the most growth in students from below average ACT and SAT scores to several points above the national average.
I have a high school diploma and am working on a Bachelors degree at BU Kilachand Honors College on a full tuition scholarship. In high school I received the Governor's Award, AP Scholar, and was valedictorian.
