Extraordinary Career English teacher with over 26 years classroom and tutorial instructional experience gives reading and writing lessons to all levels of students in Charlotte, NC area and online.

I have a Master's degree in English and have been teaching and tutoring for over 26 years. That said, my tutoring lessons are focused on the needs of the individual student which I can determine after seeing a sample of his or her writing and/or a homework sample. My lessons are goal centered around the concepts to be taught. We write, we read, we discuss the material and we review appropriate lessons in grammar and mechanics on
an as need basis. With younger and beginning students, I stress fundamental of language use more. Concept development is more the norm for more advanced students. We get a lot of work done, regardless.

I teach reading, academic english, test prep, modernist literature, resume / cover letter writing prep. Lessons are available for the following levels: primary school, junior high / middle school, sophomore, junior, senior, advanced technical certificate, college, adult education
I give lessons in person at my home, the student's home or meeting in public locations.
I give lessons by webcam.
