Jewelry-making sessions and tips with college student trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology

Anyone can learn the art of jewelry-making! With a few simple techniques and your own creativity, I can help you make intricate, unique pieces of jewelry.
I love experimenting and working with a variety of materials, especially wire, beads, resin, and string, so I am flexible with many jewelry-making methods. You pick the materials, and I'll help you design and create your very own pieces of jewelry. I encourage students to learn through experimentation, just as I did, so our jewelry-making sessions will be very hands on with lots of room for creativity. I prioritize safety, so we will be wearing goggles if working with wire, gloves if we're working with torches or resin, etc.

Vera's Practical information

I teach jewelry design. Lessons are available for the following levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced

I give lessons in person at the student's home.

Vera's Experience

I took a jewelry-making summer course at the Fashion Institute of Technology (NYC) for one month. I also helped teach peers in high school how to make jewelry in a crafts club.

Vera's CV

After taking a month-long jewelry-making course at the Fashion Institute of Technology when I was in high school, I began taking custom jewelry orders from people at school.
I started my own mini business ((concealed information) in which I sold made-to-order jewelry and donated 85% of all proceeds to the Born Free Foundation. I also worked with the United Nations Women's Guild, who sold some of my handmade jewelry. Parts of the money made from their sales went to a children's charity as well as the Born Free Foundation.
