A native French speaker I have moved to the US in 1998. I am raising two bilingual (French/English) children.
I studied art history in France and cinema in the US. I like to explore every aspect of the language, but I can also teach a lot about history, French society or literature.
I really like to adapt to the students' need when I teach a subject. It goes from using school books to comic books, movies, or articles. I just like to use tools that will make the students more comfortable learning a language.
In the past, in France, I have taught mathematics to students age 12-16, mostly keeping my students over the years to help them improve, which I did for 5 years. I had around ten students, and even taught maths to full classes. Teaching French to my own children really helped me to isolate the various challenges of the language to native English speakers.
I have a Certificate in Cinema Production from Los Angeles City College where I have completed my student thesis.
I have been a professional translator for more than ten years now, working on TV shows, movies, commercials, corporate brochures, websites, video games and more, which implies a solid knowledge and understanding of the French language and society.
