I am a Tulane University graduate and Teach for America alumna. I spent the past three years teaching high school math, overseeing online courses, teaching middle school summer school classes, and working as the school's translator (Spanish). I am a certified teacher, and I had a 3.93 GPA at Tulane (which I attended on an academic/merit-based scholarship). I have also privately tutored over the past year. I have tutored high schools for the ACT, college students and collegues preparing to take the Praxis exam, and young professionals taking the GRE. I have mostly tutored and taught math, but I am also available for general homework help, test prep, or Spanish tutoring.
Rates vary depending on student level and frequency of sessions. Willing to negotiate, but I typically charge $30/hour.
I was named Teacher of the Year last year for my outstanding teaching skills and for drastically improving student performance on End of Course exams (EOCs) and the ACT. I have worked with students at all skill levels increase their performance, skills, and confidence.
I graduated from Tulane University in 2013 with honors. I earned a BA in Political Science and International Development. After college, I earned my teacher certification through The New Teacher Project (TNTP). I am highly qualified in secondary (6th-12th grades) mathematics. I was the 2016 Teacher of the Year for C. F. Rowley School. I was also the leader of the math planning and leadership committee in 2016, where I worked with math teachers to analyze data and develop new methods for improving student performance in mathematics from 6th-12th grades.
