I am a long-time English and Theater Arts teacher who has tutored high school through doctoral candidates in any aspect of English or performance needed. I meet students and then construct plans and write specific worksheets or exercises for our sessions based on their requests, needs, and my initial assessment. Original goals are often met and then new goals are established and I write further lessons. In other instances I will work with a classroom teacher's curriculum to provide support for students.
My firm belief is that students do not come to us to learn how we teach; rather, we teachers must discover how each student learns. Adaptability and good sense of humor are indispensable in this venture.
Special rates for outstanding circumstances can be discussed.
I was a classroom teacher for many years and for the past five years have been tutoring individual students. Since I was still a classroom teacher until last year I have not yet taken on large numbers of individual students; I would guess 20 students. I have received 5-star ratings from the ones who rated me and one of my current students has recruited other international students for my public speaking tutoring. I do not keep records on anyone's grades or diplomas.
