Retired Business Executive gives math, geometry, algebra, and finacial management courses in the Memphis area to middle school, high school, college and adult education students.
I am a retired Business Executive with over 35 years of career experiences working for several fortune 500 companies. More than 25 years of my experiences are within the education environment.
I currently teach financial management and study skills concepts to students at several colleges and substitute teach at several schools in Shelby County, Tennessee. I also tutor students in the concepts of algebra, geometry, financial management, statistics, and general math.
I believe every student has the ability and willingness to learn. My approach to students in the learning environment is to first gain a firm understanding of the student's comprehension level on a subject matter. I follow up with developing a lesson plan to fully cover the essential concepts contained within a subject matter and present it in a manner for the student to easily comprehend. Next, I reinforce the concepts learned through exercises and practice. After this step, I test the student's comprehensive on the concepts. My final step is to review the student's comprehension level on the subject matter covered and determine if there are any concepts that need to be covered again.
