3rd grade patient, compassionate teacher with 7 years of academic tutoring experience in all domains. Endorsed with a Reading Language Arts license. Individualizes education for all ability levels to

Methodology

You can stand in front of a chalkboard for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 10 months a year, for 20 straight years, and teach the same concept over and over. Sure, a student will figure out the patterns associated with the concept and might even be able to replicate the instructed procedures on an assessment. However, the second that student leaves your classroom, all of that information is inaccessible and virtually pointless to them. Those 32,000 minutes spent teaching are worth nothing.

Anyone can stand in front of a group of people and read from a state-wide curriculum book. It takes someone who is passionate about education and individual learning progression to design individualized instruction. That is what you get with me.

Have you ever seen a cat in one of those dog training courses they have at PetSmart? Nope. That’s because we’ve realized not all species learn the same way. This statement holds true for humans, as well.

Differentiation is something I am passionate about. With me, students will have personally tailored lessons that adhere to their needs, learning styles, interests, and unique personalities.

Background

I am a 3rd grade teacher who teaches all core domain classes daily. I am specialized and licensed in Reading Language Arts. I have 7 years experience working with students from ages 2 to 22. I am extensively trained in individualized and differentiated instruction to meet the academic, social, and emotional levels of all learners. I am well versed on state and Common Core academic standards, a wide variety of standardized assessment formats, the most effective diagnostic testing and instructional practices, and the social-emotional goals and expectations for all grade levels ranging from Early Childhood to the collegiate level.

Learning is not only about mastering what will appear on assessments. Learning is about developing meaningful connections between academically appropriate concepts and real life experiences that spark the interest of the student. My goal and vision for our youth community is not only to provide them with unique and meaningful content instruction, however, also to build their fluency, stamina, and (most importantly) confidence, intrinsic motivation, and a love for learning. When I am working with students, you will rarely see us merely reading from a textbook and completed aligned problems. You will see us engaging in meaningful, individually tailored based on personal interest, student-designed experiences that effectively achieve the goals set forward by the student’s general education facilitators, state and government education officials, guardians, and student.
