The keys to successful outcomes in learning are multi-faceted as each child is unique and will have his/her own learning styles. As an AST and Assistant Head, my key roles were to train teachers in Assessment for Learning, (AFL). These strategies approach the learning journey of the child from an individual basis and build up a bespoke methodology for each pupil according to their needs and potential.
I have taught in middle and secondary schools for over 30 years, to children between the ages of 11-18. Qualifying as an Advanced Skills Teacher, (AST), enabled me to teach and advise teachers on how to teach effectively in a great variety of schools to children of all abilities. When working as an Assistant Head Teacher, my responsibilities included exam performance and success. I frequently trained other teachers re: differentiation, effective teaching strategies and how to motivate and engage students.
