I am a high school freshman competing and performing at advanced levels and can teach to beginners in music. My teaching methods are to evaluate their skill level, preferred way of learning, strengths, and weaknesses then begin to organize a syllabus for their classes. We will begin by setting their main goal, such as getting a certain score at a competition, perfecting their skill on a certain instrument, etc, then small goals for each day to reach, such as learn a full or partial piece of music, learning how to count in a certain time signature, introducing yourself to a new instrument, etc. After each session I will want them to show me something they have learned from that day and will assign homework. I am a very patient teacher who believes hard work is the best way to success and will work with each student to ensure they are gaining something from each lesson.
I am a student in highschool, and have been giving tutoring sessions to students in my grade and lower classmen for one year. Students have auditioned and been accepted into private orchestras and bands, have received top scores on solo music competitions, have improved their grades in music class, and have received higher chairs in their band or orchestra.
