I approach each topic by first ascertaining the level of familiarity the students have with the topic, and moving from there. I believe that in order to learn, we must be at least vaguely interested (if not wholly excited!), and to be interested we have to be able to relate somehow. My teaching method is to approach each student and each classroom with the primary goal of making material relatable and practical. From there it is very much easier for interest to pique, for passion to grow, and for learning to really make an impact on a person's life.
I have a Bachelor's and a Master's in Art History, a minor in Japanese and a secondary language proficiency in German. I specialize in the art and architecture of the Middle Ages, and my passion is to share the love and enthusiasm I have for learning.
