I like to look at what we're working with right now in terms of writing level and execution of craft, vs. where the writer wants to go. We look at styles emulated and 'speakability' (a somewhat underrated skill for a scriptwriter!) Homework is pretty much: watching films, plays, and reading them! This is a fun career as well as being a tonne of hard work, so we need to keep as much fun intact as possible!
I got my first award for my writing at the tender age of ten(!) but my first official recognition was the Commendation for the Julian Battersby Young Playwrights Award in 2014. Since then I've been nominated and won awards for my plays, pilots and feature film scripts.
Cancellations are no issue provided I have not travelled into London in order to attend. Please let me know with 24 hours notice if you're unable to make a class.
If letting me know last minute and I've already travelled in, I will ask for the refund of my train ticket in and out of London.
