I have a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Drury University. I will be attending the University of Missouri in the spring to pursue an electrical engineering degree. In the meantime, I am interested in teaching math and science to students who may be unfamiliar or struggling with these subjects.
In Biology, I can teach through 3000-level college courses; I am the most familiar with physiology and cell biology.
I will structure lessons according the student’s needs. As a lifelong student, I have extensive experience with making complicated material clear and simplified, and making academic expectations reachable. I am currently only offering lessons in person, and I am happy to meet at the student’s preferred location in Springfield.
Throughout my education I have taught students at my level or below, often in study groups. In college, at the end of the semester, we the students administered formal lectures from the text and tested the other students. My main focus in biology has been behavioral neuroscience, and I have academically and personally studied how people learn, and how people learn best.
