My teaching method is based on a personal approach, where I aim and endeavour to tailor my classes to the needs of the individual student/group. I have a selection of materials I have acquired throughout my years of teaching internationally. I try to offer a bespoke service to ultimately get the best results for the student, utilising all skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) with original content and context.
My teaching method is based on my own experiences of learning another language at university level, then moving to the country for full immersion and language classes. All of my methodologies are based upon what I found worked best, and what I felt didn't work so much. I have then honed this methodology through completing my CELTA at Cambridge.
I am an English teacher who qualified with the University of Cambridge in 2011. Since this time, I have taught ESOL, IELTs, Business English as well as English classes within numerous universities abroad (South Korea, Japan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Israel and Costa Rica). I have a total of seven years experience of teaching English in both a group setting and 1:1 private lessons.
The first session is for free - this is a 30-minute session which will be held over Skype. The first session will not be about teaching you anything new, it will not be a lesson. Rather it will be an opportunity for me to really understand your needs as a student as well as me being able to really understand how I can help you realise your learning goals.

Perfect! The last lessons with Jess were challenging. I learnt a lot. Not only about the language but also interesting tips about London. Thanks a lot! Moreover, Jess is a very friendly and vital person. I'm looking forward to more lessons.
Our first lesson was really enjoyable and I find Claus to be a very confident English language student. He showed a great knowledge of the language and real interest in the lesson. I had planned the lesson with a mixture of listening and speaking exercises focusing on doing business and focusing on the needs Claus mentioned initially. An excellent first lesson and one of many more!
English: Jess is a great teacher - fun, friendly and knowledgeable. I just love her and warmly recommend her to anyone who wants to learn English for any reason!
Spanish: Jess es una profesora genial - divertida, amable y sabe lo que hace. Ke encanta y se la recomiendo a cualquier persona que quiera aprender inglés por cualquier razón!
Really easy to communicate with. It's fun to practise English with her. Plus, her British accent is simply to die for.
Jess is a committed and hardworking individual. She has a wealth of experience from both her postgraduate studies as well as her professional work in the U.K. and abroad. Her enthusiastic and logical approach supporting people with a range of leadership skills, including communication, motivation, creativity and responsibility. I would highly recommend Jess on all levels.
