From high school to now I have always had a passion for English Language and Literature. I studied English Language and Creative Writing at Univeristy in the UK, achieving the highest class of Honours degree (1st). I then went on to gain my CELTA, before moving to Australia and working in various private language schools in Noosa and Sydney.
My teaching method is creative and varied. I like to use current affairs, media and popular culture to generate discussion and provide a different entryway in to studying languages.
My style is also very conversation based with an emphasis on error correction, so would be helpful for those wanting to improve speaking skills.
I currently work in the afternoon, (1-5pm) Monday to Friday at a private language school in Melbourne so I am available after/before these hours and at the weekends.
I have used my qualifications to teach at summer schools in the UK and more recently, across Australia at various language schools for the past year.
I have taught English to a range of nationalities and ages, from Ugandan school children to Japanese adults, and I am passionate about sharing my love of teaching and experiencing new cultures and languages.
