I have a a bachelors degree in Art Education from Arizona State University. I also have a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Grand Canyon University. I use a variety of educational strategies to help teach students art, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I enjoy teaching through technology and hands on activities to help teach real world problem solving skills.
I taught art to K-8 students for 7 years. I have taught STEM to K-8 students for 3 years. I have worked with students with a variety of special needs from gifted to self contained special needs classes. I works with students with a variety socioeconomic backgrounds to achieve success.
My degree in art education has an emphasis in photography. I also worked a professional photographer and managed a photo print lab. I taught beginner and intermediate art to elementary and middle school students. My students have participated and placed in national and international art contests.
In 2014 I transitioned to teaching STEM after completing a Masters in Educational Technology. I use my art knowledge and experience to help students develop problem solving skills useful in engineering concepts.
