I teach classical technique and encourage my students to begin with a classical guitar because this allows the most versatility. That being said, you can begin with an electric or acoustic guitar if you wish. I teach my students to read notes, chords, and tablature so they can read any kind of guitar music. I teach a variety of techniques. My goal is to produce a student who can play any music they choose. I have taught students from 5 to 85 years old. My approach varies depending on the age of the student, their goals, and their ability. I design an approach for each student to maximize their chance for success.
I have over 10 years of formal music training and over 40 years of performance experience with guitar and/or voice. I have studied under and performed with high caliber musicians in many genres. My students have gone on to perform in many venues, including the classical guitar stage, rock bands, the local pub, their church, weddings, and family gatherings.
