Having studied with Ruth quite a few years ago and building a solid friendship, I have over the years experienced her teaching both for myself and overseen her lessons.

She has a highly competent and individual approach to all aspects of teaching music and seems to effortlessly help students to understand the beauty and also more complex side of the art.

Enjoying studying seems impossible, but Ruth makes this happen.

She has been my guitar tutor for about nine years now. In all that time I've not known her to do anything less than trustworthy.

Ruth has always been a very reliable and trustworthy friend and contact (who has often voluntarily got in touch with us to recommend or advise about things she felt might help us). She is a fine guitarist with an extremely broad knowledge of music of all genres, histories and suitability for students. I know this through 32 years of encountering her skills and positive actions in communications with myself and others around.

Ruth is highly experienced but also incredibly creative and usefully imaginative with a rare ability to 'think outside the box'.

I would highly recommend using Ruth particularly as an instrumental teacher, but also (being most aware of her enormous experience within the arts as a wholly wider discipline) as a candidate to consider for most working possibilities within the realms of the arts.

Ruth's Experience

I studied with the guitarist/composer Vincent Lindsey-Clark and composer John Barton-Armstrong completing my degree at Bath Spar University. I also participated in John Duart's summerschool masterclasses. I have taught music, at all levels, to individuals and classes for 20+years.
