I am trained in the Suzuki piano method and have 5 years experience working with both beginner and advanced Suzuki students. I am a strong sightreader myself, so I incorporate music reading with all of my Suzuki students as well. I believe in a balanced and holistic approach to music instruction. It takes a careful balance of music theory, music reading, ear training, eye training, and artistic sensitivity to become a well-rounded and proficient artist and musician.
I am a Nashville-based pianist, vocalist, songwriter, performing artist, session musician, and music instructor. A Central Florida native, I began teaching piano when I was only 17 years old. I studied music at Southeastern University and graduated with a Music Business degree in 2012, while balancing several private piano and guitar students in my spare time. My teaching experience flourished once I moved to Nashville in 2013 and taught in one of the most renown studios in the greater Nashville area - Jan Williams School of Music and Theatre. I taught piano, voice, ukulele, guitar, songwriting, music performance, and music theory to students of all ages. Genres and styles varied from Mozart to Nirvana! While balancing my full load of students, I also toured and recorded professionally. I believe practical, real-life artistry is essential to teaching young students. I continue to cultivate my artistry and incorporate it with everything I do as a music professional.
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy for lessons unless student is ill, a family emergency, or another extenuating circumstance. Makeup lessons are not offered unless there is a special circumstance.
