My methodology varies depending on whether the student is at a beginner level or advanced level, however I would say I specialize in target drills for specific skills, dissection of forehand and background strokes, as well as serving and volleying. With beginner students I generally keep it fundamental, beginning with basic repetitions of short-court strokes and then slowly work in some live play. I also am adept at tailoring my level of play to skill level of my student in order to build skills and avoid discouragement.
I am from Santa Barbara, California but am entering my third year at the University of Texas at Austin. I played for Santa Barbara High and now play on the UT club team. I have taught many students through family friends but am looking to expand my network now that I am home for the summer and can commit to a more consistent time frame. The kids I have coached in the past have ranged from ages 5-16 and vary in skill level. I am passionate and personable and am happy to meet prior to our first lesson for parental comfort and safety.
I generally do lessons at Westmont college or Municipal Tennis Courts depending on availability, and meet meet my students AT the court at a specified time.
