I tutor secondary chemistry and biology up through the college level! My teaching style emphasizes practical applications and real-world examples of concepts I am explaining to a student. I generally ask that students come prepared with general conceptual questions that I will work through with them, and then I will move on to helping with assignments after concepts have been clarified and explored. In addition to making sure application is a part of my lessons, I like to encourage students to find their own answers, rather than me telling them answers. This shows a student their true potential to answer tough questions and encourages further learning while building confidence!
I graduated cum laude with a degree in biochemistry in March of 2018, and I have experience tutoring biochemistry, calculus-based physics, general and organic chemistry at the college level. I also have lead undergraduate experimental labs, and have participated in several chemistry and biology research projects. As a result, I try to integrate examples of practical applications of science material into tutoring lessons.
