I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a major in elementary education and integrated science. I have experience teaching everyday mathematics, and I have experience teaching 4th grade math. I like to teach with a lot of different styles, I like to make things visual and practical.
I taught 4th grade fall of 2016 with a class of 22 students. I taught everyday math in the classroom. I saw improvements in their unit assessments with my teaching. I used computer games to help drill basic skills in a fun way, and to review on concepts learned earlier.
I feel that Nate is a trustworthy teacher, leader, peer, and mentor. As the Head Co-coordinator of kid's programs at a nationally recognized climbing gym, Nate is responsible for creating curriculum and implementing lessons for students of many ages. He is being trusted by kids, staff, and parents to keep enrolled students physically safe, while bringing an exciting atmosphere to the realm of learning. As the head for the past two years, he has demonstrated a feat by taking an overlooked program into a desired activity that is constantly evolving and always has a wait list. I would trust his mental awareness in developing outdoor educational programs that strengthen students' minds through both physical and emotional growth.
