My lesson structure is flexible, dependent on the needs and time constraints of your particular child. I prefer to work through material concept by concept, always ensuring that there is a solid foundation before we build a second floor, so to say. Etymology, root concepts, and basic rules of math and grammar are at the center of my pedagogy, but they do not overshadow the most important thing: learning has to feel good.
I am a summa cum laude graduate of the NYU Gallatin School for Individualized Study. Since then, I have taught in classroom settings as well as private tutoring for the SHSAT specifically. When I was younger, I went through the whole prep school rigmarole in central New Jersey. I managed to excel at the tests I needed to excel at. Today, I use those trials and errors to help my pupils learn from my own past mistakes.
If commute is more than 30 minutes, I will have to add to the rate on a case by case basis.

I met Henery in Berlin a few years ago. Since coming back to the states, Henry has been my go-to-guy for everything from proposals to my thesis. He's incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and eager to explain corrections with me.
Henry was a wonderful German tutor— very clear and patient with the hard grammar, and taught everything in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. And he even showed me a couple of German songs that were fun to learn and helped me remember many phrases :) Thanks Henry— would definitely recommend!
Henry has been a great friend and peer of mine for a couple years now. He's one of the most passionate people I know, and he is great at introducing others to the things he's interested in.
