My previous students come from a variety of groups including elementary to high school students, college students, graduate students, adults, etc.., The majority of my lessons was conducted online. Sometimes, I do tutor in person if the travel radius allowed me to go. In my opinion, when it comes to studying or learning something, understanding is extremely important. So students' understanding is my priority. Before each lesson starts, I may ask what part or topic that student wants to work on, so I might have a better prepare such as finding examples, patterns or things like that for the clear demonstration.
My name is Bella, and I am an alumnus of Clemson University. I have graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology major and minoring in Management. Now I am looking for a job that can help me to gain more practical experiences such as becoming a tutor. I found this is definitely a great job opportunity, which can help students or learners solving any subject concerns and becoming more confident. I used to be a Statistics tutor at the Tutoring Center of Pierce College when I was in the mid of my freshmen year and sophomore year. By the way, I am still doing online tutoring in Math, Statistics, Social Sciences, Computer Softwares, and Vietnamese. It's true that we are living in fast-paced of technology, so I'm completely aware of the importance of Computer Softwares or using MS Office Products in the workplace. I have taught more than ten students in college level for this particular subject. After a few scheduled lessons with me, they seem to get better in navigating the software, feel much more comfortable with it, and can even use certain features and functions in the program. Some of them still keep in touch with me, and I am so happy about that. I have been always good at helping others, and I like to help people.
When I was in my undergraduate, I have conducted several research studies. My main research interests are about teamwork dynamics, team development, team coordination, team communication, team leadership and as well as team intervention. I also have experiences working and doing research in a global virtual team where I have been placed in a team with each member of the team comes from a different country and handling cultural differences along with time-zone dispersion to come up with business proposals for the companies that were facing up with their real-life international business challenges, which helped me become familiar with solving problems as a team and strengthen leadership, presentation skills, and time management. I did have two years of experience working as a student lab assistant, so I have familiarity with computer skills, statistics, data analysis, and data interpreting.
Please contact me. I am looking forward to helping you guys. This would be my pleasure to work with all of you. I am willing to share all of my knowledge and put my efforts in to make sure you will learn something after each lesson.
In case, if you have already scheduled a lesson with me, but you are unable to attend for some reasons. You can always reschedule for a different time slot. But you do need to notify me in advance for at least 3 hours before the scheduled lesson starts.
• Degree: 2 degrees
o Clemson University with Bachelor of Arts – BA, Psychology (2015 – 2018)
o Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom with Associate of Arts – AA, Mental and Social Health Services and Allied Professions (2013 – 2015)
o 3 Projects
Teamwork Diagnosing and Interventions Project: Our team chooses to diagnose a CI team for Aging and Decision Making for a project in PSYC 4890. Throughout the semester, we gathered information about the CI team through observations and surveys. We took all the information gathered and found what this specific team struggles with. We developed possible interventions for each challenge the CI team seemed to be faced with. For being intimidated by the instructor, we suggest having a team building interventions to establish close relations. For team coordination, we suggest establishing a team charter and implementing it throughout the semester to hold everyone accountable. Also, the team seems to work more individually, so we suggest holding more meetings than normal or/and having a team coordination training.
The Effects of Sleep on Working Memory: Sleep plays an important role in life. The aim of this study is to explore the effects of sleep on working memory. 21 undergraduate students responded to an online questionnaire survey after they completed the matrix activity to test their working memory. Data were statistically analyzed by using Pearson correlation, one-way ANOVA, and an independent T-test. The results showed no relationship between sleep and working memory. In addition, the class rank and gender differences did not have any effects on working memory as well. The understanding of the influence of sleep on working memory will be beneficial for college students to have better time management for doing good at school or even other groups.
Virtual Team Project: Due to the fast-paced development of technology, virtual teams are growing in popularity and becoming inevitable. In this particular project, I have been placed in a global virtual team and work with them for 8 weeks to suggest a solution for a company that was facing with their real-life international business challenges while I also have to deal with cultural differences along with time-zone dispersion from my team members at the same time. This project was designed to help me gain my first-hand experience in an international business teamwork. I also received an X-Culture Global Business certificate after the project is over, which is very nice. I did not like it at first, but I gradually like it when things were processed smooth and met up our team standards since I tried to apply tips for effective teamwork as much as I can.
