I received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Dallas in 2005. I quickly entered the world of education and became a teacher after completing a teacher certification program in Irving, Texas. While teaching, I received ongoing training in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program.
I taught 6th grade Language Arts for 1 year and 9th grade English for 4 years in an IB school. I was awarded "Teacher of the Year" in my first year of teaching and never had a 9th grader fail the STAAR test. I trained countless students on how to effectively read, research and write for a variety of academic situations. I also have a great understanding of the state of Texas academic testing from my experience as a testing coordinator.
