Received Master of Science in geography from University of Tennessee 1997. Thesis title "Solid Waste Management in Montserrat, West Indies."
Received Bachelor of Arts in geography from Humboldt State University 1992. Graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Teaching methods include lecture, videos, discussion of readings.

Background

I've taught geography at the college level for over 20 years. In addition to classroom teaching, I've also taught individual students. Most of the students I've worked with one-on-one have raised their grades significantly. Several of my students have gone on to graduate school.

Montserrat is a small island in the eastern Caribbean and this project sought to assess the appropriateness and efficacy of various means of waste disposal, and to survey the extent of illegal dumping
Research methods included writing and administrating survey about individuals’ behavior and perceptions about trash, conducting interviews with government officials and other informed sources, and extensive observations in the field
Conclusion was that Montserrat’s solid waste management methods were appropriate; however, results no longer apply since volcanic eruptions (1995 to present)
