I am looking to give tutoring lessons to high school and college students looking for extra help. I am very partial to a student-centered method of instruction, meaning that I like to design my lessons in a way that meets the individual needs of my students. I personally enjoy learning through lecture and discussion, but I am aware that this method of learning is not appealing or effective for everyone.
I am a graduate history student with a focus on American history. I also have a bachelors degree in psychology. As a graduate student I had the privilege of working as a teaching assistant for two history professors at the University of Texas at San Antonio. This job gave me the opportunity to work with college freshman and help them build their writing and analytical skills through one on one discussion.
If you would like to meet in person, then my hourly rate is set at $25/hr, which covers the cost of transportation. However, if you would prefer lessons through webcam, then my rate is $18/hr.
