My teaching methodology is best described as responsive and personal. I approach each student as an individual, carefully observing not only their work but the verbal and body language that they express while working. When I first start to work with a student, I assess gaps between their current skills and the skills they want/need to gain on, create a plan, and then reassess on a continuous basis so that I can adjust my instruction in real time. This allows me to provide exactly the learning experience that the student needs at the time that they need it. My approach is effective for all students, and is especially impactful for students who are struggling to get what they need in a traditional classroom setting.
Since 2010, I've tutored and taught students from grades K-12, from learning to read to learning to write essays, and from learning to add to learning Algebra II. I'm able to be successful with all of these students because I have a deep understanding of the art and science of learning and teaching, and of setting and reaching goals.
