I have taught students aged 6-20, but my main age group has been high school and college age students. I like to challenge my students to learn how, and why, so that they can be self-sufficient learners. This way they can succeed beyond just one, or multiple sessions , doing well on each test, essay, and assignment that they tackle.
I have taught in private and public high schools, and tutored in private or home settings. I have a BA in Lit/Writing and a Master's degree in Education. My students have succeeded in passing and increasing SAT scores, as well as improving writing and reading skills.
I value my time spent teaching, and your time spent learning. To facilitate the scheduling of lessons, I use the following cancellation policy:
Cancellation Policy for Students:
If a student wishes to cancel the lesson, she/he must provide notice at least 8-24 hours prior to the beginning of the lesson.
If a student cancels the lesson between 8 and 4 hours in advance, a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the lesson cost may be assessed.
If a student cancels the lesson between 4 and 2 hours in advance, a cancellation fee of up to 75% of the lesson cost may be assessed.
If a student cancels less than 2 hours in advance, a cancellation fee of up to 80% of the lesson cost may be assessed.
If a student arrives to a lesson late, the lesson cost will include the time missed by the student.
If a student arrives to a lesson more than 20 minutes late, I may consider the lesson cancelled without prior notice and a fee of up to 100% of a regular lesson will be assessed.
Tutor Lesson Commitment:
I value my students time and education very highly, and as such I make every effort to adhere to scheduled lesson times:
If I am more than 10 minutes late, I will discount the lesson and charge only 50% of the scheduled lesson cost.
If I cancel a lesson with less than 12 hours notice, our next lesson will be free.
