My teaching method is mainly based on problem solving and/or using visual representations and schemes where possible . I introduce a new topic by either trying to transpose the concept into a drawing/scheme (rather than talking or writing definitions) or by guiding the student to solve a problem using the particular concept. I often encourage students to be talkative and try to eliminate their fear that their ideas or thoughts about a particular problem might be wrong/criticised upon.
I hold a Master's degree in Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry from Imperial College London. Prior to university, I have been a tutor at a special needs school for 2 years. From my second year of university until present, I have worked as a STEM mentor, providing chemistry lessons (A levels and university level) and assisting with practicals during outreach teaching sessions aimed at 12-17 years-old pupils from various London schools. Currently, I am still holding this position.
