I teach students aged 15 to 50 in schools, colleges and professional settings. I've taught in the U.S. and abroad. My experience has given me the ability to understand individual student needs, as well as how to manage diverse learner groups in the classroom. I give interesting and meaningful lessons that are memorable. I believe in communicative teaching methods - my students actively participate in a variety of tasks so there's no time to be bored in my classroom.
We build a respectful and dynamic learning community that makes it easier to learn.
I've been teaching for over 20 years and have taught hundreds of students. Maybe thousands! My students have improved their grade point averages, SAT scores and passed the TOEFL which allowed them to go to college in the U.S. The professionals I have tutored improved their English, and built the confidence it takes to further their careers. They also found out it can be fun to study.
I have an undergraduate degree from New York University and a Master's in Education from The Open University, in England. Currently I work at Pace University, in New York City, as well as LaGuardia Community College, part of the City University of New York. Previously I taught at the Cuba Middle School, in Cuba, New Mexico. Before that, I worked at the University of Rome, "La Sapienza" in Rome, Italy.
