International Psychology doctoral student & professional high school social studies teacher who provides online mentoring and teaching.

Methodology

I tutor, teach and mentor for secondary and collegiate level students. I focus on an engaging and interactive teaching style, to ease the intimidation of learning. I work towards developing the areas of improvements and challenging their strengths to become even more advanced.
Emphasizing critical thinking skills, I help my students deepen their understanding of the content by applying it to their life. I try to challenge any assumptions on the topic and provide a new way of viewing the material.

Background

I have taught many students in a variety of settings:
-Graduate assistant to 160 undergraduate students, assisting them in learning time management & study skills, as well as assisting in lectures (1 year)
-Elementary student teacher to a small classroom of children suffering from learning disorders, who required one-on-one teaching and individualized lesson plans (1.5 years)
-Middle school & high school social studies teacher for an international charter school, teaching Gifted & Talented, English as a Second Language and Special Education students (3 years)
