I like to teach to the musical taste of the student. Once I figure out the style of music that the student wishes to play, I equip them with the technical and artistic skills to play fluidly within that genre. I can also provide an instrument at the request of the student.
Since I started playing guitar 10 years ago, I have played in a rock band, performed with several jazz ensembles, won multiple classical guitar competitions, and studied with an array of masters in multiple styles. My diverse musical background has given me insights on how to simplify the instrument and help students learn to play the music that inspires them the most. Do you have a genre, song, or solo that you have dreamed of playing? I will help you create a path to making this a reality.
$15 cancellation fee if less than 24 hour notice is given by the student.
I am formally trained in both classical and jazz guitar. I have studied with master teachers in the Philadelphia area, and attended advanced summer programs at Stanford University and NYU. In college, I studied in the studio of Alan Rosenkoetter, and was enrolled in graduate level coursework by senior year. I have performed in multiple showcases, galas, and masterclasses culminating in a senior recital. I have also performed at several university events, providing classical guitar music for receptions and ceremonies. In our lessons, I will give you all of the important knowledge that I have gained from my broad musical experience so that you will be on your way to playing like the greats.
Below are the awards that I have won through the years:
Friends of Music Scholarship Award | 2017-2019
Received a merit scholarship from Washington University in St. Louis for outstanding contributions to the music department as a student and performer. I received this same scholarship in the two prior academic years as well.
Honorable Mention | Washington University in St. Louis | 2018
Received honorable mention at the 2017-2018 Friends of Music Concerto and Aria Competition for my solo performance of Fantasía para un gentilhombre by Joaquín Rodrigo

Received 2nd place in the Junior division at the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society annual competition for outstanding performance of both panel selected and competitor selected solo repertoire.
