Lessons are structured with a balance of theory, technique exercises, ear training, improvising, and learning songs, with a strong leaning on the student's preferred musical style. If a student should like to focus on any one of those areas in particular, I'm happy to accommodate! Both private and group lessons are available.
Music is incredibly important to me, so naturally, I make it my goal to ensure that all my students not only learn how to play, but that they develop a sense of understanding and assuredness in their musicianship. It's one thing to learn a trick here and a lick there, but it's another thing to create musical ideas with a solid foundational knowledge of the guitar and its vast possibilities.

I started playing electric guitar at age 9 to the dismay of my mother, but with some lessons and the love for rock n' roll, I proved to her that it wasn't just a phase. After a year or so, I started taking formal lessons to help me through jazz band in middle school. I continued taking lessons until I left home for Hollywood to study at Musicians Institute where I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Performance on Guitar.
I usually perform and compose progressive rock and metal, as it pushes my technical boundaries to no end. I always love a challenge that results in a new skill. My time at Musicians Institute expanded my proficiency in Funk, Latin, Reggae, Jazz, Country, and everything in between.
Over the years, I've played bass live with a cover band, acoustic guitar accompanying singer/songwriters at open mic's, as well as classical guitar at recitals. Throughout middle and high school, I learned to play clarinet, French horn, and the mellophone, which I used in the marching band.
Given the majority of my life devoted to music through the guitar, I'm driven to help my fellow guitarists hone their skill, develop a working knowledge of music as a language, and prepare them to play with accompanying musicians.
