My favorite teaching method is working out a problem while explaining it both verbally and visually (with diagrams and/or graphs, depending on the specific problem); and sometimes I also like to use the Socratic Method, which consists of asking questions to the students that will make them figure out the solutions on their own.
My focus is to make learning a science course less painful and break down the jargon for you, whether that's through anecdotes, mnemonics, or pictures. However, I believe that the best learning process is for you to be actively involved by attempting to solve problems, answering questions. As mentioned before, I am a high school English teacher and I want to encourage my students to read and write more. Practice makes perfect so there will be ample opportunities to work on weaknesses in new and different ways. Learning is a two-way street and I expect students to be able to communicate with me when things are not working so it can be revised to their needs.
