I tutor by attempting to work myself out of a job. I know that people learn by connecting new novel information to information that they already understand. I teach through finding what it is that someone knows and trying to figure out the disconnect between what they know and what they don't. I focus on helping them understand the disconnect as a means of learning how to learn.
My teaching method is based on a blend of communicative approach and real-life interaction. It uses drama techniques that help with pronunciation and accent reduction and explains grammar and idioms in context so as to fix major notions like a native.
I base my courses entirely off of the student's main goals. I can tackle more classical approaches, modern curriculum, learning for hobby's sake and everything in between. That's not to mention that I will bring in outside knowledge to broaden their horizons as well to make them a more well-rounded player.
I am Franco-American, French being my native tongue but much of my education being in the United States. I spoke French at home with my family and passed my 7th and 11th grades in France. I spent my 11th grade preparing for the scientific and French Baccalauréat.
I base my lessons on the student's goals. From there, as I get to know them, we start by gaining a solid grip of fundamental English grammar laws, then leveraging them to allow the student's authentic voice to shine through in their writing.
I can work with students on any level. I base my lessons on what you need most. First, I find out what you know and are comfortable with and then I build from that helping you to think about the subject matter effortlessly.

I am fairly laid back, but expect focus and concentration when delivering a lesson to a whole class or working with a student one-on-one. I have worked with students of all ages. I figure out what makes each person tick and use that to help them learn.
I love giving back to the youth of New Orleans. Teaching for me has become about so much more than achievement and test scores. When my scholars leave my classroom to move on to the next grade, they leave with a sense of identify and understanding of what it takes to be a contributing citizen in their neighborhoods, city, state, and country.
My teaching method promotes self-learning and critical thinking. I allow students to integrate their own passions into common core topics. This integration keeps students enthusiastic about broadening their personal knowledge. Helpful composition critique and literary analysis conversation are central.
I am open to giving lessons to anybody willing to dedicate time to learning something new. I am a very visual person, so I will be using a lot of graphics, detailed power points, and a variety of other methods to instruct.
Experience has shown me that a great teacher serves as a facilitator--not a smart device spitting out answers. It may take different periods of time, multiple modes of learning, various texts, Socratic conversations, etc., but every student can definitely succeed. When a student learns the different paths to figuring things out, they use those tools in every setting (not just for one assignment).
Because I do not only teach spanish to foreign students, but I am also a playwright, director, actress and "Oral expression" teacher, my classes are super interactive and fun, I believe that in order to learn in a healthy way students must enjoy the process.
I provide lessons to students of all ages and levels. My lessons are based on real-world application. My goal is for each student to be able to use their knowledge of Spanish on a day-to-day basis. Lessons are created specifically to fit each student's personal learning style.
I am currently studying at The International High School of New Orleans and am hoping to practice medicine in Britain. I am currently a high school sophomore taking honorary junior classes. I have gotten perfect scores for my detailed and thoughtful essays whether it be persuasive or a literary analysis piece.
I'm a young French native speaker seeking to share his knowledge of French with students, children or any desirous person. I'm actually in university at New Orleans to study Business. Given that I had to learn English these past years, I know the need of someone learning a new language and where the struggle are, so the courses will be adapted to the level of my student.
I am currently a sophomore at Xavier University of Louisiana. I major in Music, with a minor in Education.
I am a School Counselor who has experience with both middle school and high school students. I have also taught online Psychology lessons at the Associates degree level. So, I have experience working with all age groups and in multiple formats; I can individualize my approach and my lesson format to help each student be successful.
My teaching method is based on my experience. I believe it is important to show students that it is okay to make mistakes as long as they learn from them. Also that all students should have equal opportunities to get the best education possible. I want to make sure that my students are getting the right education while having the best possible time.
I am a yogi and educator with a background in health education and behavior change. I have experience working with young people and adults in classrooms and on the mat. As a native Spanish speaker, originally from the Dominican Republic, I love to share my culture and the Spanish language with students.
I use tools like writing and critical thinking and questioning to engage students in conversations. I think it's important to encourage creativity and focus and use meditation and breath work to set a relaxing environment. I enjoy working with students of different ages and backgrounds.
My teaching method varies by student. Education is adaptable! Some students work best having lessons first and working after, some prefer to work on their own first and come to me for corrections. Some learn by seeing, some by hearing, some by doing, and some by a combination.
I believe that academic success is possible for all students, no matter what their background. Specifically with math courses, there are three key elements. First, I work on securing the foundation of basic arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Second, I push for my students to understand the concepts rather than just the methods.
My teaching method is student centered and caters to students strengths which is amplified by a blended model of instruction that follows the methods of I do, we do, you do. Lastly, my methods focus on consistent praise and feedback that seeks to build and reinforce continuos improvement mindsets in students.
My teaching methodology is first and foremost to focus on the student and her/his needs. I realize that some students are visual learners, others are more text-driven, and others combine both approaches or manifest unique approaches of their own. As a tutor, my job is to act more as a facilitator than an instructor.
My teaching methodology is simple: connect mathematics to the world in which we live and find practical connections to students lives. I know the "shortcuts" but I also know that to have a thorough understanding one must be able to connect ideas together.
