My teaching methods are very simple, we start with a test to valuate the student’s level, than we start with the basics, grammar and vocabulary...
Hello! I am a Mathematics Teacher with over twenty years of experience. I have tutored students of all ages in algebra and pre-algebra. Whether you struggle in math or are looking to become more proficient, I can help you achieve your goals. Learning math is about building confidence and ability. I take the time to tailor instruction to each student's needs.
Graduated from Buckingham charter magnet high school in 2008. Went to Solano Community College for two years and earned A.S. degrees in biology and chemistry. Transfered and graduated from UCD in 2012 with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology.
I love learning languages, cultures, and meeting new people. Right now, I’m learning Japanese, Korean, French and Portuguese, my goal is to learn as many languages as possible, to be able to communicate with people and travel around the world.
I am a current math graduate student at CSU Sacramento. My tutoring sessions are structured like reading courses: together we will create objectives and a roadmap for achieving them. My goal is give you a skill set that will help you become a self sufficient student in any high school or undergraduate level math class you may take.
I believe that my undergraduate degree as a civil engineer and work experience as an engineer gives me a unique perspective on education in mathematics. I tend to see connections between real life situations and the Common Core Content Standards for Mathematics. Also, graduating from a Polytechnic, I firmly believe in a “learning by doing” environment.
I teach students one-one with the help of laptops. I have worked with Reading Partners, Apple Ipad and Android Tablet Tutoring, and one-one learning with laptops. I have used Ipad, laptops, and youtube videos to teach my students how to read. My tutoring sessions are very interactive and innovative.
Hello, my name is Ms. Wilson and I am currently available for tutoring sessions with primary school age children. I prefer to design a lesson plan that is individual to the student’s needs. We can begin instruction by reading aloud and see where we need to go from there.
Each individual has something to offer. I believe in fostering the already existing skills of my students to better fit their unique needs. I am able to adjust to the learning style of a student. I am firm yet understanding. Learning should be an enjoyable experience not a chore. Students should walk away with new knowldege and a desire for growth.
My approach to teaching is to combine delivery of material through use of lecture with examples and practice in the forms of questions and sample problems. I believe that students succeed when provided space to interact with the material.
I teach finger exercises, posture and music reading skills. Can also teach chord chart reading with comping inversions. Can teach simple songs with various left hand accompaniments such as arpeggios, block chords. bass/chord. Can enable student to play with metronome for solid tempos.
I give the students a pre-assessment to determine what they already know, then use the assessment to determine where to begin instruction.
A first lesson will be me determining the level of experience the student has their goal(s). From there, we will create a lesson plan that will help the student move in the direction of achieving their goal(s).
I can teach students in their home, help them to understand the topic first then solving the problems and making practices.
I approach each topic and student individually. We will spend time getting to know one another and finding what works best.
I am a UC and University of the Pacific graduate. I also have taught curriculum support, SAT/AT prep, and literacy coach for several school districts in the Sacramento area. I also like to work with students who have challenging needs such as executive functioning, inattention, behaviors, and organization needs.
My teaching method is one on one, and it is not complex. Visual learning is key, but so is explaining everything step by step. You must first understand how the student learns first to better get a teaching stand point for the student to fully grasp the subject.
I tend to follow the "Tell Show Do" principle.I explain every thing in simple language to the people I train.By following this approach they know from A to Z about what they are doing and will be doing in the sessions to come.
Math is a process. Not everyone gets it. I know from working with students that it takes a little time to get it. Once students get math then they are more confident and excel. My older sister went back to school and I tutored her. One day she said to me "I Got it". She has a great job with the state.
The way I teach is to explain and show the "problem" first, then let the students explain to me what to do, and last they will show me. This way, I can coach them throughout the whole process.
Throughout high school and college I struggled with subjects like math and physics. However, I did not allow frustration and hopelessness to drag me down. I trained myself to attack subjects from multiple angles in order to understand the subject material. I intend to use the same approach to help students understand even the most difficult-seeming subjects.
Chemistry is hard, but a teacher should make it easy for students. I provide math instruction, hands-on technique, 3-D visualization, and a history lesson. I use a mixture of: Lecturing: go over the chapter, review the assigned homework, tell stories about how what is being covered was discovered and how it relates to everyday life.
I use the curriculum and methodology developed by U.S. Sailing and U.S. Windsurfing. Beginner classes will start with theory and land-based training before moving on to on-the-water practice. Classes for experienced sailors and windsurfers can be tailored based on the participants skill level and topics of interest.
I am currently an adult education Academic Teacher/GED Instructor/Case Manager, working for the Greater Sacramento Urban League. I hold a designated subjects teaching credential in elementary and secondary education.
My teaching method is going over what you need help with by helping with questions you have and also providing examples about the topic.
I love to find a way to make a student enjoy learning as a life long skill. There is not just one method to teaching, but rather it is important to find a way to connect with the subject being studied.
I base my classes on understanding how much my students know and the method I need to use to get across the subject easily such that the basic concepts are clear. I like to give practical examples of things so that the topic is clearly understood. My students have been from Middle school, High School, College and Graduates.
I fit all of my lessons to the needs of my students. I like to begin with a warm up that covers an overview of the past material and then continue on with the lesson of the day. For Spanish, it is critical to have multiple sections of the lesson so that my students improve their comprehension and communication skills in every lesson.
My method of teaching is pretty simple, I cater to your learning style and adapt to how you personally learn and I see a lot of growth from that. I base lessons around what you need the most improvement in and try to make the best experience from that.
My teaching method consist of going through and breaking down sample problems. From there, I like to get my students as engaged as possible by having them do a set of problems assisted and on their own. I’ll send out problems for homework and follow up with my students to discuss the solutions.
