Hello! My name is Rebecca Phillips. I'm a junior biology major at OSU. I believe effective teaching requires a combination of tactile, auditory, and visual methods.
I only do personal sessions, that way I am able to tailor the content we are covering in a way that the student will learn best. Everyone learns differently, I like to work with my student a little bit and understand how they learn best and then set up a teaching method personally tailored to them that will allow me to help the understand the content in the best way possible.
i have particular ways of teaching each student ,i first analyse the student way of communication and how slow or fast a student can go before using my own way of teaching . I make known the student understand that no exercise or problem can be done without understanding the notes and the basis.
My teaching methods vary broadly based upon the course and equipment available. I use a combination of powerpoint slides and group discussion or debate for most lessons. I try hard to incorporate current and emerging new information into all lessons.
Because I do individual tutoring sessions, my teaching methods are really tailored personally to the student. I usually like to work with my student a little bit just to see how they learn before I administer a so-called "methodology." I understand that every student learns differently, and we can adjust any content to make it work for that student.
My teaching approach is very visual and adaptable. Just as every work of art is unique, so is the way we learn as individuals. There's value in repetitive teaching of fundamentals. Great artists always remind you: "Draw what you see.
I have a Bachelor degree in materials science specializing in glass industry. I also have an associates degree in business and administration. At the present time I pursuing a master degree in business and communication to apply for a management position.
When I first meet a student I give a few basic assessments to determine what letter sounds, vowel patterns, sight words, fluency, and comprehension the student already knows. Then I prepare 30 minutes-1 hour lessons based on the information I gained from the assessments. For example these lessons may include words sorts, games, or reading passages and answering questions.
I am a resourceful and imaginative teaching professional, highly trained in a wide array of artistic mediums. I have a talent for instilling art appreciation and promoting creativity and open-mindedness in students, plus a proven ability to maintain a well-disciplined and highly-motivated classroom.
Hi, I am Cassie. I work with children from ages 5-12 that are working on their basic math skills as well as basic algebra skills. I love to work with children usually in a hands on approach that works best for each child, since everyone learns in a different way. I have tons of patience and love to help children achieve their goals that they set for themselves.
I have a very interactive teaching method. History can't be taught (and truly enjoyed) without two way dialogue and a thoughtful conversation of the times. I believe the "why" of how things happened is the way to understand "what" things happen. I've taught students grades 6 through 12.
Teaching is an extremely important responsibility from many different perspectives - as a social role model to the youth of society, as a teacher passing science knowledge to the next generations, and as a scientist keeping up-to-date on important advances in the field – all of which serve to illustrate the characteristics of this career that attracted me to it.
