The way I go about teaching or tutoring is first asking the student if they have any immediate questions about a topic they don't understand. If so, I will go through the material with the student and explain it in a different way than previously presented in order for them to understand it.
My teaching method is very thorough and to the point. When teaching science courses, I like to use visual aids. I am patient with my students, because I want to ensure they understand the material. Once I am finished explaining the material, I like to test the student to see if he or she understands the material by asking them to re-explain the topic to me.
I base my teaching on the way the student learns best. visual, hearing, written, repetition, etc. I give lessons to students of all ages who are willing to learn including students with learning disabilities. I usually start the class off with 2-3 mins of asking each other of how my students days are going so far and if they have any cool plans coming up.
