I am able to work with high school students and up. I like to structure my lesson plans in a flexible way that allows for the material needed to be covered in a comprehensive way. Initially I like to discuss areas of concern with the student and create a plan that focuses on the needs of an individual rather than trying to get through an entire syllabus or all course curriculum.
My teaching method has changed a bit over the years, and instead of being always a giver of information I have become a super resource person. I allow my students to examine, explore, and verbally share their learning with other class members and myself. Whether it is on-line, in a classroom setting, using skype, cell phones or other media such as u-tube my student learn by doing.
My teaching method is highly interactive, I ask a lot of questions, review and tell relevant stories to help paint a picture. I am high energy and passionate about anatomy and the body and get my students excited.
I have a B.S. in biological sciences as well as a minor in chemistry and biochemistry from Arizona State University. I have taught a variety of levels that range from middle school to college. I strive to help students who are very committed to their studies and aim to challenge themselves.
I am a recently accepted graduate student at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in Downtown Phoenix in the hope to pursue my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Me as a teacher: I like to get to know students to maximize our time and efficiency in learning the material. I help students stay focused and determine what learning methods work for them. Experience is the best teacher, so I try to incorporate experiences like observations, experiments, or real-life problems.
I offer a variety of teaching tools including visual aids, online videos, activities, and assignments that make learning biology easier
I individualize my instruction to suit your specific needs to retain the knowledge forever, such as: subject, concepts, your goals, time limit, difficulty, assignments now &future, previous knowledge, ace the assignment , and what success skills you need to last you a lifetime.
I observe the student to assess their specific needs and provide individually prescribed lessons that are fun, sequential, well founded, and productive.
I currently teach College and High School Biology, Chemistry, Cell biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology.
