I am a full time scientist who loves to teach. I have a PhD and have been studying biology for almost all my life. I am good in English and I base my teaching on simplistic views of the natural world, something beginners can relate to and find interest in. I am experienced to teach Biology M and E to SAT students.
MS Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering, Santa Clara University, CA MSc. Molecular Biology and Human Genetics, School of Life Sciences, Manipal, India BSc.
My teaching method is much of a collaboration between the students and myself. I prefer explaining a topic first, helping the students understand the basics and having them read materials later so that they understand the topic better. I personally prefer students coming up with doubts during the next class. I don't mind repeating the material again until the student is thorough with the topic.
I teach by examples in the real world as well as hands on learning. I also believe repetition is the best way to learn a topic. I also want students to be engaged in the subject so will assign small projects to get the students into the real world applications of biology.
My teaching method is customized to the needs of the students. I prefer to do a lecture on the topic of interest followed by an interactive session. The students can choose the topic(s) they want to focus on each week and communicate 7 days in advance so I can be well prepared for the class.
I believe in practical teaching. I approach every concept step by step and appreciate clearing every basics first and link all the concepts together so that the students get the flow of the mechanism and never forget. I like making my classes more interesting with pictures and videos and animations.
I am a physician in the Bay Area offering math and science tutoring for students at all academic levels, including preparation for AP exams, SAT, and MCAT. I’m also offering assistance with written assignments. In my lessons, I focus on critical thinking and understanding the subject matter while minimizing the amount of pure memorization required.
I integrate findings from psychology and neuroscience into teaching you about biology efficiently. We will use "memory tools" such as the memory palace to make learning fun and efficient.
I have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, with several years of experience in both teaching and tutoring, chemistry and biology.
I am a recent biomedical engineering graduate. I am flexible when it comes to tutoring; we can either meet up somewhere or I can tutor you via chatting or webcam. I can write lesson plans and write out solutions to your homework problems if needed. I will make sure you understand the material and are able to get a good grade.
Dear Recipient, As a medical student, I have a deep understanding of many sciences and math topics. In my years at Westmont College, I have been able to teach and tutor as a teaching assistant for 4 years. I mainly taught General chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Math, and Biology, as I double majored in Biochemistry and Cellular Molecular Biology.
I have been offering comprehensive and affordable private lessons to students at their convenient time and place. From day one, my students notice the improvement in their abilities and overall comprehension. Each student has a unique learning style, and it’s my duty to find out what that is and adapt my lessons accordingly.
I understand each student is unique - with different learning styles, paces, and needs. I mold my tutoring according to the individual, using combinations of visual and tactile aids to engage students. I believe in building confidence in each student, providing significant practice material, following up regularly, and being patient and understanding with each student's education journey.
I like to engage students’ interest and relate course materials to their background to enable common ground for better learning
I am a graduate student living in the Bay Area. I received my B.S. in Biology from Boston College. I love teaching biology to students of all ages and levels (grade school to high school). I structure my lessons around my students' strengths and I personalize my approach to most effectively tap into their learning potential.
Ph.D. Biochemistry, M.Sc. Molecular Biology My mission is to spark a love for science in Middle and High School students. I worked as a Scientist discovering new cancer therapies and led several research projects and published in high impact journals. I believe that a good scientific foundation and a mindset of critical inquiry can create success in academic and non-academic fronts.
My method is to break biology down to it's simplest form and learn how logically work out the pattern to understand what is happening. I also encourage memory tools to aid in all the jargon involved. An average session will start with a refresher question from a previous topic or related concept. Then students will work through an activity tailored to their learning styles for the concept.
My teaching method involves building a framework around my student's prior knowledge and engaging them in developing a deeper level of understanding through active learning techniques that are proven to support enduring understanding.
I believe everyone is different and has their own method of studying that works best for them. My intention is to help students find the best way to help themselves.
As a tutor, I first assess the knowledge of the student(s) and create a lesson plan on how to move forward. This allows me to cover the areas the student has understanding of, while still allowing for more time on areas that they are struggling with.
I make teaching simple by referring things on internet and try my level best to make that thing learn in a simple way
Master of Science, Earth and Environmental Science (2014) Tulane University Bachelor of Science, Environmental Science (2012) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute I enjoy teaching and have a passion for helping others learn! I'm currently teaching math and science to middle and high school students, and am seeking more students who are motivated to learn.
I received my BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK and my PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. During my education I studied a range of sciences including Math, Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Anatomy, Cell Biology and neurobiology. I currently teach students for AP Biology, Chemistry and Psychology 1-to-1.
Hey everyone! My name is Michelle. I have a Bachelors in Science from Emory University in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology, and in addition have completed all pre-med requirements. I was a supplemental instructor from General Chemistry in College and am comfortable in all the basic science and math courses (calculus 1, statistics).
I am Physician Scientist. I have a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry at University of California San Francisco. I went Chicago to work with Abbort Pharmaceutical for a year before before going to University of Illinois for an MD degree. I taught Pharmacology for 5 years at the school of Pharmacy.
