I received my BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK and my PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. During my education I studied a range of sciences including Math, Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Anatomy, Cell Biology and neurobiology. i have been a visual learner with a short attention span, so when i started tutoring i made sure to keep it short, fun to study and very visual. i mostly tutor premed or highschool students but younger students are fun to work with as well.
My teaching methodology focuses primarily on contingency. Though each course will have a rough outline of material to cover, each student is unique in what they will naturally absorb themselves and what they will need extra help with.
My focus in tutoring is always to help my students build their skills and confidence, step-by-step. I will tailor your lessons to your needs and your unique way of seeing the world. Above all, I approach every lesson with awareness, patience and respect.
My teaching method is visual, task orientated and easy-to-relate to. As someone who is a student and has recently sat and qualified the exams that you are attempting, i know exactly how and what to learn.
Current medical student, near completion of my medical degree at MUSC and on my way to becoming a surgeon. Completed my BS in Biology at Furman University in Greenville, SC while on scholarship. I use problem solving as my preferred method of teaching. This way it becomes an interactive session for student and tutor.
Hello, I am a Philosophy and Biochemistry grad from LSU. I tutor students of all ages in Biology using textbooks, model kits, and online visual tools that I provide. The pacing of the lessons depends on what goal the students wish to achieve. From wanting to get ahead in middle school to wanting to ace that AP Biology exam, I am enthusiastic about helping my students reach their goals.
My methodology is to use simple language, analogies, problem solving and positive feedback to breakdown complex scientific material. I encourage questions and critical thinking to demystify what is misunderstood. In essence, I use what the student already knows to help them understand what they don't.
After high school I enrolled myself into a medical college. Biology was always an important subject foe me as I always had an inclination towards the Medical and Health Sciences field. I enjoy teaching in my off time and also get to know people.
I'm a Ph.D. graduate from the Molecular Metabolism & Nutrition Biomedical Program at The University of Chicago looking to learn and help others by sharing my knowledge and love for science via active learning strategies. I provide in-person and online tutoring to any age level.
Current college biology student who is on the dean's list. In High School I was also on honor and have had various tutoring/ teaching experiences. I enjoy a hands on approaching talking concepts out with students and I have found that to be effective.
I am a tutor who uses various and new approaches to teach a subject matter. If I realize one method is not working, I will turn to others and to my colleagues. If I feel you would work better with a different person, I will tell you. I truly believe having a good tutor is about having a good match. I think that everything can somehow be made interesting or be made applicable to your life.
I am a recent doctoral graduate of UTEP (Ph.D. in Pathobiology), giving biology lessons to anyone aged 13 to 113.
Currently working toward a Masters in Biology while teaching part time at the Technical College of the Lowcountry. I teach Anatomy, Physiology, Biotechnology, and Basic Bio 101 Lab courses. I believe a good learning environment involves pictures, hands on experiences, and fun.
I am currently a graduate student at Northwestern studying Reproductive Science & Medicine. My method is to help students understand course material by taking what they know and expanding that knowledge through study techniques and resources for their style of learning.
I am currently a sophomore at Boise State University studying Human Biology. I have a 3.8 GPA and currently remain on the Dean's list. I am willing to give lessons to anyone in elementary school, middle school, high school, and first year college students. As a tutor, I will be very patient and understanding with my students.
I am a dentist (DDS) by trade with an undergraduate degree in Biology (BA in Biology). I was as home-school mom. I taught at a dental school and I currently teach college biology classes. I look at each learning experience as it's own. I like to teach to the strengths of my students. Not everyone learns the same and my challenge is to figure out how to teach you.
I am a graduate student who is available to give lessons on health-related scientific subjects such as anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, kinesiology, exercise science, clinical pathology and nutrition to high schoolers, and college students. I like to teach by asking questions, and will be able to provide YouTube videos for frequently asked questions.
I teach concepts through problem sets and deepening your understanding of the subjects terminology. Also, I quiz you regularly to focus in on areas in which you are struggling. The method is simple we learn the terms, then how to use them together, and we discuss the subjects together to iron out any misconceptions.
MBA/MPA/BS in health, business and public administration. I teach various students at various levels. I usually let the student determine their strengths and I build on that to help where he/she may have struggles. I can help students from prek to high school senior. Some college students as well.
I am currently a Third year Medical Student, with experience of tutoring college and medical students. I can give lessons in Biology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Cell Biology to all levels up to College. I am very easy going and understanding, seeking ways to make learning your subjects easier.
I have the ability to explain concepts in a number of different ways depending on the needs of my students. After 8 years of teaching I have come across many different students and taught to a variety of different ability levels (from special education to honors). At my disposal I have visual aids, power points, analogies, worksheets, and mnemonic devices.
My teaching methodology is whatever works best for the students! I create an initial framework to start with and then adapt and amend this to help suit the students' learning needs. I am happy to create a variety of different assignments to help students progress through their learning, and like to set mini-goals along the way to help motivate my students.
When helping someone overcome a road block in learning, I believe in approaching the topic from a different angle until one works. Visual, auditory, and tactile styles can all be used to find one that works. I have used whiteboards for repetition, color coded diagrams, analogies, and more to look at the information from all angles. Everyone learns in a unique way and at a unique pace.
I prefer to teach high-school and college students. My methodology consists of asking students questions and then giving them small kernels of information so that they can comprehend the process on their own. I use outlines and deconstruct topics into smaller sections so students don't become overwhelmed. Also, I like to find ways to make the material relatable to students.
Hello! I have recently graduated college, double-majoring in Biology and Geology, and am looking to give lessons to anyone in grades K-12 needing assistance with any of the Natural Sciences! It is my goal to develop lesson plans tailored to individual learning styles for maximum success.
I attended the University of Tampa in Florida where I double majored in biology and marine science and minored in chemistry and environmental science (BS degree 2000). I also completed my Texas state teacher certification coursework and and have 7 years teaching experience. I have a Master's in Divinity as well.
My teaching method is based on Design Thinking. Each session is based on the needs of the student with additional study material and quizzes. My lessons are aimed at high school who have a hard time with memorization/conceptual thinking.
My teaching philosophy is simple: Education should be learner and learning-centered. My outlook on education stems from personal experience. I took my first tertiary course at Brevard Community College the summer before I entered the University of Central Florida. In terms of instructional vs.
I provide lessons to students from the secondary school to graduate level. My philosophy is simple. I believe any effective tutoring should explain even the most complex subjects in simple, understandable ways. Once difficult concepts have been explained in simple terms, a student will have the understanding and confidence to do well.
