I am a full time scientist who loves to teach. I have a PhD and have been studying biology for almost all my life. I am good in English and I base my teaching on simplistic views of the natural world, something beginners can relate to and find interest in. I am experienced to teach Biology M and E to SAT students.
I learnt many facts about effective teaching which leads to thorough preparation of the subject and continuous evolution of teaching skills. As a teacher I must be able to recognize the learning capabilities of a student at the individual and group levels, and let my lesson plans transform as I interact with my students.
I received my BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK and my PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. During my education I studied a range of sciences including Math, Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Anatomy, Cell Biology and neurobiology. I currently teach students for AP Biology, Chemistry and Psychology 1-to-1.
My teaching method is hands-on. I encourage students to discuss the content so that they can remember it easier. I also enjoy playing quiz games (like Kahoot!) to see how much you've learned. I use Zoom as a teaching platform which allows complete interaction with students.
My methodology is to use simple language, analogies, problem solving and positive feedback to breakdown complex scientific material. I encourage questions and critical thinking to demystify what is misunderstood. In essence, I use what the student already knows to help them understand what they don't.
i have been a visual learner with a short attention span, so when i started tutoring i made sure to keep it short, fun to study and very visual. i mostly tutor premed or highschool students but younger students are fun to work with as well.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Nutrition and an additional EMT certification. My main teaching methodology is through direct instruction and practice. Practicing skills at different levels is incredibly important to ultimately mastering them overall.
My goal is not just to help students with specific subject help, but to teach students how to approach their studies in a way that is more effective. I hope to that with each lesson, my students feel more confident in their abilities to not only tackle current hurdles but take on future ones.
My teaching method is to help my students understand the material in a way that will allow them to apply their knowledge in the future and not just forget it once the class is over. Instead of just teaching out of a textbook, I do my best to make subjects exciting and engaging, so students enjoy learning instead of dreading it.
I am currently a sophomore at Boise State University studying Human Biology. I have a 3.8 GPA and currently remain on the Dean's list. I am willing to give lessons to anyone in elementary school, middle school, high school, and first year college students. As a tutor, I will be very patient and understanding with my students.
I am currently a Third year Medical Student, with experience of tutoring college and medical students. I can give lessons in Biology, Anatomy, Microbiology, Cell Biology to all levels up to College. I am very easy going and understanding, seeking ways to make learning your subjects easier.
I teach HS science, currently Biology, and am very excited to work with students helping them to prepare AND to move to the next level of understanding. I believe science is so amazing and should by taught that was as well. I graduated from BGSU and have also worked in Engineering on Cad/Cam as well as been and Administrator at Owens.
I have the ability to explain concepts in a number of different ways depending on the needs of my students. After 8 years of teaching I have come across many different students and taught to a variety of different ability levels (from special education to honors). At my disposal I have visual aids, power points, analogies, worksheets, and mnemonic devices.
I like mindmaps, flashcards, analogies, I often use diagrams in my own notes and like to write summaries on the topics I’m learning, memory training, bullet points, google slides, working with apps, brainstorming, open-ended questions, discussions, YouTube videos
I'm a recent Biology graduate looking to give lessons in all of the middle and high school sciences and undergraduate collegiate biology coursework. My methods mainly consist of guiding the thought train through relevant material and solidifying concepts to help students reach their capstone potential.
Molecular Biosciences and Biotechnology BS at University of Hawaii Manoa Cum Laude. Teach with individual learning in mind. Accommodate learning times and subjects. Flexible schedule. Active learning and participation in lessons. Students have fun while learning. Learning for future use or passing a class, tutor experience is positive.
I am a college grad with a BA in Cell and Molecular Biology. I patiently adapt my teaching style depending on the student's learning style. I believe in using kinesthetic methods and real life examples and analogies to help with mastery of difficult material.
I am a former high school biology teacher who has taught SOL material. I know how challenging it can be, so I am here to help. I can break down difficult concepts for you in a way that you can grasp, using various methods to teach you, such as hands on activities, lab experiments, videos, or on location learning.
University of Phoenix---Master of Education: Curriculum Design and Instruction University of Arizona---Bachelor of Science: Physiological and Health Sciences Arizona State Certicates: CTE Health Science, Biology, General Science Training: AVID, Link Crew, Leadership (Student Government), Career and Technical Education, etc.
I expect preparation, diligence and dedication. Preparatory reading of assignments and accurate response to questions presented in didactic (classroom) environment. Be prepared to discuss topics presented. If you can teach them when we're done....you know the information Eight (8) years of lecture, classroom, and laboratory presentations.
My teaching method involves making information come to life. I show that each piece of information has value, whether it's obvious or not. I can teach to all levels, from grade school through graduate school. I like to make sure the foundation of a lesson is laid out before diving into details.
I love to teach in one-on-one situations! I like to determine a student's current level in a subject and create a path we can travel on together to help them arrive at a mastery of that subject. I like to make my classes fun wherever possible; I use whatever methods--diagrams, videos, or websites--most click with a student's learning style.
I teach students at the collegiate level. I like to have scheduled lessons so that students can get the most out of the sessions. I believe that the best way to help students is to have them practice, practice, practice. I like going over questions to test if what they are reading is sticking.
I provide lessons to all levels and ages of students. Most of my clients are high school and college age and need help with a range of biology and hard science classes. I personalize every one on one session and try to help students feel comfortable and confident. In group settings, I try to address all concerns in a time efficient manner and use lesson plans geared towards that individual class.
My teaching method involves breaking down larger concepts into smaller, more approachable topics. I present each topic through multiple teaching styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) in order to reinforce the material and to accommodate all types of learners. I also find great value in connecting the material to real-life examples.
I tutor in general biology, cell and molecular biology, genetics, and college prep. I tutor the way I learn best, acting as a resource to allow my students to apply the knowledge they have while facilitating growth. I am understanding of frustrations in learning hard sciences (I had more than a few myself) and am always willing to cater to the needs of the individual.
Hey! I know how difficult high school can be, and how stressful college season is towards the end of junior and all throughout senior year. I want to serve as either a mentor or admissions consultant to high school students because it is incredibly easy to make the whole deal a lot more challenging than it should be.
I have perfected various study skills that have helped many of my students with efficient uses of their study time. I not only base my lessons on the subjects required for students but also various methods on how to study for specific subjects.
My teaching method is a combination of repetition and real-life examples. While I want students/peers to read their material thoroughly, I can also allow them to view "textbook situations" through "real life" examples.
I am a public high school life science educator. I have been teaching for the last 11 years and tutoring for over 15 years. I have taught well over 2,000 students in my classroom and tutored hundreds of students over the years.
To be sure of the quality of our tutors and their lessons, we collect reviews of former students.
