My lesson plan is base on a student needs. However, I always gather a student's learn information (his/her learning style) and then I plan my lesson plan base on the information I received from the student. I also provide practice problem on that particular topic so that the student can apply self learn, after I explained and exemplified the concepts.
I have primary tutored at college level, but more than capable of tutoring at the high school level. My tutoring sessions have the reoccurring theme of introduction, specific problems of students, overview of topic, sample problem broken into a mechanism, and finally practice.
I graduated in the Top Ranks of my High School, after which I went on to Trinity University where I Graduated with an Advanced Interdisciplinary Degree (Bachelor of Science) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and received Numerous Honors Including admission to AED, a National Premedical Honors Society, as well as admission to KME, a National Specialized Mathematics Honors Society, wherein I...
I am an educator who enjoys sharing his passion for science by making difficult concepts in physics, chemistry, and even biology easier to understand by presenting them in multiple ways. I enjoy using visuals, hands on activities and labs, and manipulatives.
Obtained B.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. Currently working on a M.S. degree (with less then a year remaining) in Microbiology with a concentration in Medical Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Florida.
I am a current undergraduate student double majoring in Biochemistry and Microbiology. I mostly tutor STEM classes to individual students or to groups ranging from 3 to 12 students. When it comes to actually presenting all the information to the students, I try to plan interesting and engaging lessons for the students to better understand the material.
My name is Jonathan. I was a Biology teacher and able teach all of the core sciences (biology, chemistry, and physics) at any level.
My teaching method is very hands on and attentive. I want to know where my student is having issues and start at square one to reach our goal! I am a very visual person and enjoy drawing out pictures and graphs to better understand concepts.
Chemical Engineer & Soil Scientist with ample field, teaching, and tutoring experience in Chemistry, Algebra, Geometry + successfully preparing students to ace their tests from GED to GRE. I personalize teachings modifying them according to each student learning style, with as much hands-on practice and fun as possible.
My goals as a teacher are to guide and motivate my students to be the best chemists they can be, capable of competing with their peers from any institution in the world.
An outstanding teacher should not only be knowledgeable about the subject which they are teaching but be able to explain concepts in a way that engages students. Connections must be made from course concepts to preexisting knowledge and experiences to build up a frame work of interconnected ideas.
I hold a BSc in Chemistry, MSc in Chemistry and a Ph.D in chemistry and taught chemistry for >30 years in higher education.
I have a B.S. in biology with a 3.8 GPA and have attended 3 years of medical school. Math and science were always my favorite subjects because all they truly need is an understanding of the subject matter (rather than memorization). So let me bring this understanding to you and your child and help make these subjects as sweet as they have been for me.

Hello, I hope all is well. My name is Kemeth Mayfield and I am a tutor of the stem fields. I graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio with a degree in physics. during my time at UTSA, I became proficient in a wide number of math and science. You name it, calculus, chemistry, geometry, geology. If it's science, or math, I can help whomever.
I did my masters in chemistry with thesis on organic chemistry, reactions understand with step by step reaction mechanism, I taught saphomore students, I have four years of experience in teaching for high school students and I clarified the students doubts with regular interaction.
My teaching method is "whole brain learning" and fun repetition through various methods like games, activities, videos, and writing. I give lessons to those needing assistance in mathematics and life sciences up to 12th grade. My methods are typically to assess the student first and discuss goals followed by collaborative practice where I model, observe, prompt, encourage, and track progress.
Supplemental instruction at UTSA specializes in a technique known as collaborative learning. I utilize this technique immensely in all of my sessions (individual or group). My main objective is to identify the areas of the subject that each student has the most deficiencies in and to build up from those weaknesses.
My teaching method leans more to the Socratic idea because I want people to understand the concept rather than repeat it. I enjoy taking a topic of confusion and making it more relatable to the student in need. My expalinations are short and concise to help prevent information overload and ultimately mental shutdown.
I believe every student is capable of learning. I'm comfortable in tutoring all elementary and middle school grades, and algebra and geometry. I'm patient, and follow an "I do. We do. You do." model of instruction. However, what that looks like is individualized for each student.
I believe that students learn by doing. I make sure that students are actively writing and practicing problems in order to gain a true understanding of the material. I also have experience with ADHD, test anxiety and Lee confidence in ones ability.
I use a mixture of Socratic Questions as well as research based learning methods to insure a well rounded experience.
Previous experience being an SI (supplemental instructor) for chemistry and biology courses I had received A's in. Each week I would reserve a study room in the library and invite all the students in my courses to come out and I would procede to teach and answer any questions they came across.
B.S. Chemistry (minor Biology) - Xavier University of LA, 2004 -PreMed, 3.
I am finishing my degree in Biology and preparing to attend medical school. I tutor students in elementary, middle and high school as well as my classmates at UTSA. I try to get to know my students in order to develop a study plan that best fits their preferred method of learning.
Hello! I am a recent Biology graduate from the University of the Incarnate Word. I currently work at UIW as a science tutor with a focus in entry level Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Organic Chemistry. I love for my tutees to utilize the vocabulary and usually have them run the session as they sharpen their science jargon.
I am an honors college student at Texas State University studying biochemistry who tutors those in elementary, middle, and high school. I like to use what the students already know and guide them towards a better understanding of whatever is causing them trouble. I use lots of examples and guide students step by step through them.
