My teaching style is method-based; we review important scientific concepts, and then discuss how the student can use these concepts to solve the problem at hand, and similar problems, step-by-step. I am a strong believer in guiding students to discover the solution themselves, rather than just telling them the answer.
As a retired professional engineer and mathematician, I am offering science, mathematics and logic tutoring and lessons to students at levels from middle school through university undergraduates. My teaching method is example based.
My teaching methods is the student-centered approach. I coach and facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of material, and measure student learning through both formal and informal forms of assessment. Teaching and assessment are connected because student learning is continuously measured during instruction.
I base my classes on lots of visual graphics, maps, notes and examples from real life to make it more interesting and comprehensive. I also try to engage my students and develop their critical thinking skills.
My teaching methodology is, begin with the introduction without books, watch relevant videos and explore the topic and practice questions after that. Understanding the concept is very important. Also, quizzes and short review tests are very important to check the understanding.
I approach each topic by tackling the basics first - making sure that every student has a conceptual and foundational understanding of each topic before starting. I usually then proceed with practice problems for further comprehension of students' knowledge. As a tutor, I am very patient, friendly, and empathetic.
My teaching method is based on the person I’m working with. As every individual is unique, their learning styles may differ.
My teaching method is based on the lectures I have developed for my classes at Lane College in Jackson, TN, Alliant Internatinal University in San Diego, CA and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals where I have taught chemistry for the past 26 years.
My teaching method involves simple ways to teach the basics of the subject and making my students, capable of understanding the concepts .
I am a Graduate Professional with 19 years of experience in Medical, Industry field and Education. Helping others to learn is one of the most successful experiences in my career. Additionally working with students with learning disabilities, co-workers with different careers or educational level are giving me the most powerful experiences.
I am Frederick E. Macaso, graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Biological Sciences in Western Mindanao State University, College of Teacher Education, one of the best teaching institution in the Philippines. i am a recipient of the Best student Teacher during my college days.
I have done my Master in chemistry from Periyar university and got specialized in organic chemistry and pure chemistry. Also completed Bachelor of Education in physical science from Calicut university. Am currently pursuing Cambridge CIDTL international course from Indus International Bangalore.
Online individual tutoring is provided by using interactive Skype with screen-sharing. The screen-sharing feature permits chemical structures and reaction mechanisms to be drawn in real time during tutorial sessions. All visual materials thereby generated are saved as jpg files and then are sent to students at the conclusion of each session.
When I teach others, I like them to show me what they understand about the topic first, so that I can build upon their existing knowledge, and/or target the information at which they are confused on
They are customized to the needs and abilities of the student. Our primary focus is to master the material by practicing a range of problems from easy to hard. After the easier problems are mastered we will work on more difficult problems. Taking practice tests, watching videos, and discussing the examples and theories together is what makes a student prepared.
PhD Chemistry instructor with 25 years of college teaching experience in all levels of college freshman chemistry that includes the curriculum of high school general through AP chemistry. Also have taught analytical and inorganic chemistry at the upper division college level. Interactive method designed to pique scientific curiosity.
I am a freshman undergraduate pursuing a Physiology and Neuroscience Major at UCSD (University of California at San Diego). I have been teaching students of all ages for the past 10 years through school clubs and such. Also received a 4.4 GPA in high school with many APs and honors classes.
I teach by example and situationally. I feel it is easier for someone to have an example to follow and if they aren't quite grasping the idea, I try and put it into a situation they can understand or try to phrase the question in a different way.
I stress classroom critical thinking, the use of mathematics and science fundamentals as foundation for driving the course. The students’ response has been very encouraging from using constructivist methodology to fully engage students. This includes encompassing the Next Generation and Common Core standards as a regular part of my curriculum.
My approach is to break down a large topic into individual concepts. Analogies and simplifications are great methods of helping students understand the thought process behind these concepts so they can properly comprehend it. But above all else brevity in terms of content to make it easier on students.
My teaching method depends on the student. Based on the student's need, my approach can be very hands on to remote sessions, or a combination. Lessons focus on underlying principles and use of homework and problem sets to clarify and illustrate these principles.
My teaching method is based on the students themselves.
I'm a PhD chemist with a specialization in organic chemistry. I'm available to teach both general chemistry or organic chemistry from highschool through college graduate levels. I have many years of experience teaching students in a classroom setting. I prefer to meet one on one because this would be the most effective form of tutoring, however, I'm open to online tutoring as well.
I think that teaching students how to learn material themselves is more important. Repetition of material, of course, is important, but when a student gets stuck, rather than immediately explain the answer, I first ask questions engage the student and let them recall as much information as they can.
I recently graduated college with a Bachelor's of Science, with a major in Health Science and a concentration in Pre-Medicine. I want to give back some of the knowledge I've received by tutoring students in the sciences. My methods would be to work through homework problems as well as explain subjects found in the class textbook that may be unclear.
My teaching methodology is to be hard on the student and challenge them, but at the same time understanding their weaknesses. I´ve learned best from teachers who challenged me and actually cared enough to go the extra step in ensuring I am comprehending what they are teaching.
Organic chemistry is difficult because it seems as though there are an endless amount of molecules and reactions. Knowing the core principles and concepts and building off of them is much more effective than memorizing an impossible amount of information. I like to address several common pitfalls in the beginning to form strong study skills that translate directly over to exam day.
High school honors graduate. Current college student majoring in biochemistry, with leads into the pharmaceutical world. Passionate in teaching the subjects I know the best in. Lesson structure includes an explanation of ideas, along with multiple examples that are walked through, and some practice problems for exemplary understanding of the subject material.
I am very positive and enthusiastic and I love to help people. If you have the right teacher it is much easier to learn. I have trained many chemists and helped many people understand complex math and chemistry. Simplifying complex subjects comes easy to me.
I have mentored and taught many employees as well as the entire site where I worked in drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics which requires extensive knowledge of chemistry, biology, mathematics and biochemistry. I also posses excellent English skills as a writer of scientific reports and FDA submissions. I taught many biochemistry courses to medical students and graduate nurses in graduate school.
