My name is Michael Bravos, Guitar Player and Music Producer. I would like to share with you my knowledge and love for music. I can teach Modern Music theory through the use of the guitar to guitar players, or through the theoretical way for other instrumentalists.
I graduated from Liberty University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies and I am currently a Graduate student in Music Education. My Music theory lessons focus on the level of the student and meeting their needs for study. My instrument lessons focus on the development of reading music, improvisational techniques, and listening.
I approach each student's curriculum differently and tailor the material to what the interests of the student are. Fundamentals will always be addressed and incorporated to give the student a strong foundation for creative and imaginative thinking.
I believe that hands on experience with a expert guiding the student is the most efficient way to learn what I do. I explain workflows in tutorial videos that can be repeated and studied. When we meet online it is more of a masterclass or conversation. I meet every student at their level and we move on from there.
I have been very fortunate to have enjoyed a successful career in music, performing, recording and producing. As I expanded my interests beyond being a recording artist (Platinum Award) into production, non profit fund raisers and musical theatre, I realized that projects that gave back to the community, in whatever way, were the most satisfying experiences.
I approach teaching music from a creative meets functional standpoint. Making music is fun ! I like to acknowledge that factor while still taking the student from their current level to where they wish to be at in an efficient way.
I like to present a concept and allow my students to expand on it using their own creativity. I make sure that my students understand how to use music software the way it was intended as well as in ways it wasn't intended in order to create unique sounds. Every student will leave the class knowing how to use a digital audio workstation to create electronically generated music.
My lessons are appropriate for students of all skill-levels: novice, intermediate, experts. For example, experts in music production may seek sound design lessons. I know Ableton like the back of my hand.
I like to teach my students by showing them the process as a whole. After I know they have an understanding of the basic process I will begin to start showing them the specific techniques I use for arrangement, mixing and mastering the music I make.
