My method of teaching is all hands on. We're learning drums so we should be drumming! Everything we learn we try immediately. Criticism is always paired with positive feedback. We will never go faster than a student can handle.
I base my lessons on personal growth and FUN! While it does take the basics to learn and grow, I believe music should ultimately be fun. So while exercises will be a part of the lessons we will also take time to learn songs you want to learn so I can help break down songs so you learn thing you want to learn.

The method is simple, use the weaknesses of your game to make strengths. By force of rigor and judicious examples to apply the theory, nothing is impossible. I consider rhythmic reading as an asset (almost) essential to progress, and am able to quickly make you understand a written method, but also advise you to write your own sentences.
Scott's teaching methods draw from many world drumming traditions. Learning how to speak rhythms and internalize them is an eastern approach from the Arabian and Indian percussive traditions. Western traditions of drumming notation are included for modern/ contemporary music performance.
